Gemma Collins has implied that she would throw aside fame and fortune for love.
The 39-year-old reality TV star – who was in an on-off relationship with her ‘Towie’ co-star James ‘Arg’ Argent, but is single again despite the pair reportedly reuniting last month has admitted that being a millionaire doesn’t come close to being surrounded by “loved ones” and someone you can “kick back and chill out with”.
Whilst offering advice to young people on CBBC’s ‘Celebrity Supply Teacher’, Gemma admitted: “Success isn’t just about work and business, it’s about living life to the full. Surround yourself with loved ones, people that make you laugh, people you can kick back and chill out with and most of all around positive people.”
The ‘Diva Forever’ star then described her alter ego The GC – which has earned her an estimated net worth of £2.7 million – as “a character that is over the top” and admitted the real Gemma is a “homely girl”.
She continued: “Although I’m Gemma Collins I’ve got my brand the GC. Gemma Collins is a homely girl who loves watering hanging baskets.
The GC, which is my brand, is basically a character that’s over the top that people either love her or hate her, but on the back of her I’ve managed to launch perfumes and lipsticks.”
Gemma signed up to teach a business studies lesson to schoolchildren as part of the second series of ‘Celebrity Supply Teacher’, after she opened her own clothing boutique in Brentwood.
She said: “I might be Britain’s number one reality star and best loved diva but being a celebrity supply teacher has been fantastic. I have been passionate about business ever since I was a child.
“We were quite poor growing up, we didn’t have luxuries, and seeing my father set up his own business and seeing how our lives changed really motivated me to become a business person myself. I have loved passing on my top business tips learnt over the years to the next generation of entrepreneurs!”
