Leicester City Were Presented With An Opportunity To Sign Alex Telles Earlier In The Transfer Window.
Manchester United completed a deal worth €15m to sign the 27-year-old Brazilian left-back from FC Porto on transfer deadline day.
The Premier League giants have been chasing the defender for 18 months and believe he could push or even replace the lacklustre Luke Shaw in the team.
But Manchester United took their time to get the deal done and Telles could have joined another Premier League club earlier in the transfer window.
Leicester were in the market for a replacement for Ben Chilwell, who was expected to join Chelsea over the summer.
It has been claimed that Telles was offered to Leicester, but Brendan Rodgers preferred to sign Timothy Castagne from Atalanta to bolster his squad.
Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico was also on their shortlist and the Foxes would have even preferred to sign the Argentine over the Brazilian.
Manchester United are banking on Telles to make an impact and are keen to see him bring his attacking edge to their squad.
