Northlane release a new album titled Alien. Loaded with 11 tracks, the new music project is available for download and streaming. This is the Australian metalcore band’s first album since 2017’s Mesmer.
Northlane’s frontman Marcus Bridge explores the impact of his parents’ substance abuse issues on him and his sister as young people. Ahead of the album’s release, they’ve shared a brand new video for single ‘Eclipse’.
“It’s easy to say that he was just a bad father but it was a bit more complicated than that. Despite trying to see it through his eyes, I’ve promised myself that I will never turn out like him, as a father, a husband or a man,” Bridge adds.
The video for ‘Eclipse’ was directed by Jason Eshraghian, who also directed the clip for their track ‘Bloodline’.
“To mirror the theme of the lyrics, I wanted the viewer to literally see the world through my father’s eyes,” explains Bridge. You see all the awful stuff we went through as children but also what led him to do those things. Like the Bloodline video, this will make some people uncomfortable but unfortunately this is a reality for a lot of people.”

Already from the album we’ve heard ‘Vultures‘, ‘Talking Heads‘, and ‘Bloodline.’ The band have already announced a run of headline Australian tour dates in support of the album, bringing with them the who’s who of heavy music in 2019.
