Raphael Saadiq shares a new song titled Glory To The Veins. Available for download and streaming, Saadiq’s latest track features Ernest Turner and is a beautiful R&B track which is the first cut from his forthcoming solo project, Jimmy Lee.
A press release states that the song is a third-person study of addiction, and Saadiq’s lyrics paint a poetic picture of paranoia and despair: “There’s too many people walking behind me / I need you beside me, please come and find me.”
Raphael Saadiq is currently supporting his Jimmy Lee album, due out on August 23 via Columbia Records, at the 2019 Essence Music Festival. He will play at the Afropunk Paris later this month.
Closer to the release of his follow-up to 2011’s Stone Rollin’, Saadiq will make his rounds in select cities for a six-date trek. The first stop of the mini-tour will be at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on the same date of his album release.
