The-Dream pays homage to Rihanna on a song off his forthcoming EP Love You to Death.
Before the full track drops Friday, the singer/songwriter posted a teaser for “Rih-Flex (Ode to Rihanna)” on social media. “She on that Rihanna flex / Now you need that love / Feels like you lost something that you never had / It was all that / Now, it’s all bad / That Rihanna flex,” he sings.
The-Dream and RiRi go way back, from him penning her smash hit “Umbrella” to his “Livin’ a Lie” track, and more recently, Dream was credited as a writer on “Woo” off this year’s ANTI.
He also gave fans another taste of Love You to Death with the song “College Daze.” “I forgot about the things you did in college,” he sings. “Can you forget about them things I did last night?”
Earlier this week, The-Dream announced the tracklisting for Love You to Death, which is set to feature five tracks, including “Lemon Lean,” “Madness,” and the singer-songwriter’s personal favorite, “Ferris Wheel.” The EP drops on Friday, Dec. 9.
