Bryson Tiller may be an enigma, but he’s finally starting to let us into his world!
Currently on his sold-out “Trap Soul Tour,” Pen Griffey made a stop at Orlando’s Power 95.3 and sat down with radio personality Aladdin to discuss all the burning questions fans have been wanting answers to.
The first thing learned in his interview is that it’s going to be rare to find any Tiller interviews online during his career. When asked why he doesn’t like to do video interviews, or really any interviews at all in general, Bryson replied simply: “I just don’t like to be all over the internet. When I look up some of my favorite artists, I just hate seeing like the same interview over and over again. Why not just give like one interview that’s special?”
During the chat he details how it was just a mere coincidence that he had the chance to meet Timbaland through a mutual friend — his barber. He also discusses how a few of the extra songs written for Trap Soul that didn’t make the cut, landed him a writing placement on Chris Brown’s latest album Royalty. He admitted that he wants to collab with some of today’s greats including J. Cole, Kanye West, The-Dream, and Jazmine Sullivan. A collaboration with any of those artists would definitely be dope!
Aladdin even got Tiller to talk about how his early life in Kentucky living with his Grandma, after the passing of his mother, helped to shape his musical taste and artistic sound. He cites The-Dream and T-Pain as major influences from his childhood and he loves the sound of R&B influenced by Hip-Hop the two of them created.
