Drake & Bad Bunny’s “MIA” Is First No. 1 Spanish Song On Apple Music US Top Songs

Bad Bunny & Drake are already setting records with “MIA.”

Drake and Bad Bunny’s long-awaited “MIA” collaboration track finally arrived last week and the new cut is already setting records as it becomes the first full Spanish-language sing to sit at No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top Songs Chart in the United States. The track, which came out on Thursday (October 11th), not only occupies the top spot in the States but also in Mexico, Chile, Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Belize, Bolivia, Cape Verde, and the Dominican Republic.

“MIA” also marked the launch of Apple Music’s new Latin music playlist ¡Dale Play!, which has already shot up to the top 5 playlists in Apple Music at the moment.

“Obviously this song is an achievement for me in my career, but what makes me really feel good is to make Latinos feel proud,” Bad Bunny told Apple Music. “To provoke that pride that a pop figure and someone so big in music globally like Drake would sing with me completely in Spanish and create this hit “Mia”. That’s the best part of it.”

While ‘MIA” may seem like a late entry to the game in the wave of artists crossing over into the Latin market this year, recruiting the likes of Bad Bunny, Ozuna, and Nicky Jam to take advantage of the resurgence of the reggaeton sound in the mainstream market, Drake and Bad Bunny originally teased this collaboration at the top of the year and at long last, delivered on the goods.
