Kelvin Fletcher gifted his dad a £160,000 Bentley car on his 60th birthday.
The 37-year-old actor who is best known for playing Andy Sugden in ‘Emmerdale’ reduced his dad to tears after revealing the lavish birthday present to him.
Alongside a photo of his dad struggling to contain his emotions, Kelvin wrote on Instagram: “They say a picture says a thousand words.
“Happy 60th Dad.
“My hero, my friend and my Dad. You’re the kindest soul I know and you’ll put anyone before yourself.
“We know how much you’ve always dreamed of this car so to see your face yesterday made my heart burst with pride and happiness. You deserve it and we are so lucky to have you [heart emoji] (sic)”
Kelvin also revealed that his dad mistakenly thought he was just renting the vehicle.
He wrote on the photo-sharing platform: “He actually said to us ‘how long have I got it for’ [heartbreak emoji]
“Forever Dad it’s yours! #LifeBeginsAt60 #AsSoonAsThePubsOpen… (sic)”
In response to the post, Ryan Thomas – who played Jason Grimshaw in ‘Coronation Street’ – took to Instagram to praise Kelvin’s act of kindness.
He wrote underneath the actor’s post: “Some son you are [heart emoji] (sic)”
Meanwhile, Kelvin starred on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ back in 2019, and he previously admitted to doing the show in order to change the public’s perception of him.
He explained: “I never did this show with an expectation that something would happen.
“To do the show in itself is a huge privilege. I was very eager for people to see me, who I am, because not many people have seen that. They’ve seen me play a character for so long.”
