Prison Break Star Dominic Purcell Says The Show Is Set To Return For A Sixth Season.
The fifth season of Prison Break aired in 2017 as a nine episode miniseries. Since then there has been no official confirmation of any continuation.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the actor who plays Lincoln Burrows on the show, posted a selfie appearing to confirm it is happening.
“Will PB season 6 happen. Yes” said Purcell in the comments.
Last month he hinted on Instagram that a new series could go into production in October
Earlier in the year, he addressed fans asking for season six in a post, saying: “I get smashed with ‘when is #prisonbreak 6 happening’. What I can promise is this. We are all in agreement that if the story is worthy it will get made.”
“Now with the horror of this #virus the calamity of it all drills inside me a new focus a steely resolve with PRISON BREAK 6– I’m very optimistic with #socialdistancing and a fierce adherence to expert opinion on how to beat this catastrophic unprecedented event, we all as one will be victorious over #coronavirus – corporations such as #netflix are desperate for content. I won’t comment on PB 6 until it is time.
The fifth season – sometimes subtitled Resurrection – revealed the previously thought-dead Michael Scofield was actually in a prison in Yemon, and it was up to Lincoln Burrows Benjamin “C-Note” Franklin to bust him out.
Prison Break first debuted in 2005, and was one of those shows that was massive in the original DVD era of binging TV.
Back when ‘box set’ actually meant a set of DVDs in a cardboard case. You probably had the Prison Break set on your shelf with 24 and Lost and Heroes and Flash Forward (remember Flash Forward?).
It ran for four seasons and a TV movie originally (despite the fact that they broke out of the prison at the end of season one, and then was resurrected for the aforementioned fifth season in 2017.
