Pep Guardiola has Slammed LaLiga President Tebas After Man City ban was lifted
Javier Tebas accused the CAS of not being the appropriate body after cancelling Manchester City’s ban that prevented them from playing in the Champions League next season.
Pep Guardiola hasn’t bitten his tongue and sent more than one message to the La Liga president: “We’ll be in the Champions League next season, Mr Tebas. What we did, we did properly”.
The CAS quashed City’s ban. Guardiola’s men will, therefore, play in the Champions League in 2020-21.
And Tebas didn’t like that decision at all. “We have to reassess whether the CAS is the appropriate body”, the La Liga president said.
An opinion that Guardiola doesn’t’ share at all. In words collected by ‘The Independent’, Guardiola has sent Tebas a couple of messages for those words. “Señor Tebas must be so jealous of the PL. He’s an incredible legal expert”, he said ironically. “Next time I’ll ask him which judges we have to go to”, he continued.
Pep took the opportunity to ask him to mind his own business: “He has to focus on La Liga. He is one of these people: when the sentence goes for him, it’s perfect”, he continued.
And he sent him a final satirical remark: “We’ll be in the Champions League next season, Mr Tebas. What we did, we did properly”, he emphaisised.
He argued that the CAS did the right thing. “We are not banned, we followed the rules for FFP as they decide. If not, we’d be banned. We’ve done it properly in the right way, UEFA say we do it and we do it”.
Guardiola: “Señor Tebas must be so jealous of the PL. He’s an incredible legal expert. Next time I’ll ask him which judges we have to go to. He has to focus on La Liga. He is one of these people: when the sentence goes for him, it’s perfect, it happened many times in Spain.
