Earlier this year, he announced that he’d be dropping his own solo album in the fourth quarter. Turns out the producer’s debut album will be released through a partnership deal between Motown Records and his own label, Familiar Territory Records. The producer took to his Facebook page to post a picture after the signing took place while simultaneously announcing his new partnership with the legendary label. In the picture, he stands alongside his business partners, Roland Williams and Al Nuke of Familiar Territory Records, as well as many of the higher-ups at the label including CEO of Capitol Music Group, Michelle Jubelirer, president of Motown Records, Ethiopia Habtemariam and Capitol Music Group Chairman and CEO, Steve Barnett, among others.
Steve Barnett had some high praises for Zay’s influence on not only music but pop culture as a whole.
“Zaytoven’s prowess as a producer, songwriter and musician continues to have such influence and impact on music and popular culture, and his signing to Motown through his Familiar Territory Records will enable us all to experience his significant talents as a recording artist,” said Barnett, “I couldn’t be happier that Zaytoven is now a member of the CMG family.”
President of Motown also had some praises for Zaytoven and his label Familiar Territory.
“We’re excited to partner with such an innovative artist and look forward to helping Zaytoven and Familiar Territory’s vision come to fruition,” added Habtemariam.
By the guest appearances alone, it’s looking like his debut album Trap Holizay will be nothing short of fire. He revealed that Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Migos, Future, Jeremih, 21 Savage and Gucci Mane will be making appearances on the project. While he’s already proven to have chemistry with all the rappers listed, it’s looking like a very promising record.
