Okediachi Emeka aka Yung Emmy may have released his debut single “They never Loved You,” about a year ago but the Lagos based rapper is ready to drop an EP.
Influenced by Drake, Kanye and hoping from co-signs from Burna Boy, Wizkid and Don Jazzy, the rapper, who hails from the Delta state Nigeria would be releasing his May 14th project titled “The Scriptures. The effort spans 6 tracks and included a contribution from Artillery Da God and Wiss.
With an expressive attitude to his rap music, Yung Emmy pours his heart on his debut single. The lyrics to the song would have you stepping back and paying more attention to what he had to say.
I was feeling so down felt like giving up
All the friends that I trust were all losing hope
Losing hope in me Cause I didn’t have
Well I’m doing all this shit Just to prove em wrong
I don’t care if what I’m doing If it right or wrong
I just hope I’m gonna see a better days

Yung Emmy is a song writer and lyricst meandering through the soundscapes of alternative rap. Being Nigerian and growing up there, Emmy got exposed to Afro-Juju, Afro-beat and High-life. He says he tends to infuse all of those sounds into his overall music offerings.
“They never loved you”, “Pull me down“ and “You would never see me down”, are just a few of Yung Emmy songs, he has other interests in design and technology.
