Danny Dyer is overjoyed at becoming a grandad, after his daughter Dani Dyer welcomed her first child yesterday.
Known for his award-winning work in EastEnders as Mick Carter, the 43-year-old shared his reaction to the news on Instagram by uploading a shot of Dani cradling and kissing her newborn in hospital.
“So my baby had a baby. F**k me we needed some joy this year,” his caption began.
Finished off with two red heart emojis, Danny then gushed: “So proud of you @danidyer cannot wait to meet the little beaut.”
As you might expect, reams of the actor’s mates and followers piled into the comment section with congratulatory messages.
Hollywood great Ray Winstone was among those congratulating the family, as well as former TOWIEstar Bobby Norris and Love Island’s Samira Mighty.

Meanwhile, Life on Mars favourite John Simm added: “Aaah. Congratulations Rkid. (Fkin hell you’re a Grandad!) Big love to you & yours,” before former EastEnders star Kate Magowan also wrote: “Ahhh CONGRATULATIONS Danny!!! Love to you and the fam.”
More of Danny’s EastEnders colleagues past and present – including Emma Barton, Davood Ghadami, Lorraine Stanley, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Tilly Keeper, Danny Hatchard and Gurlaine Kaur Garcha – also shared their best wishes.
And there were jokes, too, as In the Style’s boss Adam Frisby wrote: “Was gutted when she said she’s not naming him Danny Dyer Jnr!
“Hahaha only joking, love to you all, he’s gorgeous!”
