Sarah Trott has provided an update on her dad after revealing on The Bachelor that he is battling ALS.
The 24-year-old journalist and podcast host decided to leave the show during week three, which aired on Monday night (January 18).
During the episode, she told a fellow contestant that her dad is terminally ill and that he only has weeks to live.
A spotlight was also put on ALS when Sarah had a one-on-one date with Matt during last week’s episode.
“I’m blown away by the number of messages from those who have also been affected by #ALS. I feel honored to share my family’s experience on #TheBachelor and connect with others.
Lots of love and encouragement for all the caregivers out there too,” Sarah tweeted earlier this month.
On January 18, Sarah took to TikTok to share a new video about her father. She also shared a look at her private support group for caregivers, in which she provided an update on her dad.
“Hi guys! Sharing a quick update. For the first time in a while my dad was up for a walk around the neighborhood lake.
He doesn’t get a chance to get out of the house often because it’s such a difficult process now — getting dressed, getting strapped safely into our wheelchair van, you know hot it goes… Things that once were so easy like putting on shorts, sunscreen, and hopping in the car for an adventure are much more difficult now,” she said.
Sarah also shared a new family photo on Instagram, which you can see on her page.
“Family first, always. 🥰,” she wrote.
