Barcelona are looking for one or two central defenders in the January transfer window if possible. This is because of the amount of injuries they have in defence and ‘AS’ says that one of the players the Catalans want most is Felipe.
Pique will be out for several months as a result of the injury he suffered at the Wanda Metropolitano and Ronal Koeman has ended up almost running out of defenders.
He is having to get together a makeshift defence for matches at the moment.
Signing a new player is not easy because of the fact they need to reduce their wage bill. They will have to choose between Depay and one or two defenders. As of today, Eric Garcia is one of the men chosen.
‘AS’ has reported this Tuesday that Barcelona are continuing to look at the transfer market and they have focussed on Atletico Madrid central defender Felipe.
He is a player who has shown his quality when he has been on the pitch and that he is more than good enough to play in La Liga.
The Catalan outfit have seen that the Brazilian is not having too many minutes in this first part of the season because he has not played for Atletico since 27th October, so they believe his signing could be guaranteed from the beginning of January.
However, Atletico have not got any intention of selling Felipe. Despite this, the cited media outlet says that the Catalans are going to try their best to sign the central defender either on a loan deal or permanently.
Up to now, Felipe has played 580 minutes across nine matches and six of them have been as a starter.
