To keep fans in anticipation mode, both shared a cryptic video that features the artists eating glacé cherries, smoking cigarettes and dancing.
Last month, Cyrus said the single was “perfectly a blend of the both of us”. In May, Lipa revealed that the pair had discussed plans to link up on a song prior to the coronavirus pandemic. However, lockdown restrictions forced them to delay their plans.
The new single is not listed on Cyrus’ seventh studio album Plastic Hearts. This is also her first album since her 2019 split from Liam Hemsworth 13 months after they tied the knot. It features guest appearances from Billy Idol, Joan Jett and Angel Olsen.
Speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena 100, Cyrus said that the team-up is “perfectly a blend of the both of us” and added: “I’m super proud of it.”
Speaking about the collaboration, Lipa previously said: “Well, the one with Miley that we did together… we actually ended up deciding that we wanted to get into the studio and do something different.”
Since releasing the album’s first single ‘Midnight Sky’ in August, Cyrus has performed the track a number of times, appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon as well as BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, where she also delivered a jazzy cover of Billie Eillish‘s single ‘My Future’ and The Graham Norton Show.
Lipa was announced as the face of Puma’s ‘She Moves Us’ campaign, which will see her work with the brand on initiatives aimed at female empowerment.
