Dounya and Ines Beaten Up By Gang Of Thugs In Beauty Salon

Riyad Mahrez’s younger sisters were attacked at their beauty salon in France and have claimed they may have been targeted because the Manchester City star is their brother

Riyad Mahrez’s sisters, Dounya and Ines, were reportedly attacked by a gang of 12 in their beauty salon after a customer refused to pay.

The two were left “shocked and traumatised” by the incident and claimed they may have been attacked because of who their brother is.

Speaking to the Sun, Dounya said: “We were all shocked and traumatised. I don’t know why this happened and it could be because we are the sisters of . . . [Riyad Mahrez].”

Dounya added that, after the customer refused to pay, “Within a few seconds, three cars arrived in front of the salon and these guys got out and came into the shop and started attacking us.

“They were shouting and insulting everybody. They threw things on the floor and acted without pity. One tried to strangle me while another kicked my little sister’s leg.

“My sister and I get up every morning to come to work. We work hard and deserve respect.”

The Manchester City star is unable to visit his sisters after testing positive for coronavirus in the Premier League’s latest round of testing.

Alongside defender Aymeric Laporte, Mahrez is currently self-isolating and should be available for selection when City face Wolves in their opening league game of the season

In a statement last week, City confirmed Mahrez and Laporte’s positive tests, saying: “Manchester City FC can confirm that Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte have tested positive for COVID-19.

“Both players are currently observing a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine. Neither is displaying symptoms of the virus.

“Everyone at the Club wishes Riyad and Aymeric a speedy recovery ahead of their return to training and the new season.”

Responding on social media, Mahrez said: “Thank you for all the nice messages, I’m good. Stay safe everyone take care of you”.

Laporte added: “Thanks everyone for your messages, everything is going as well as possible, I am following the protocol for the next few days and I will be back soon take care of yourself”
