Kenneka Jenkins’ Mother Sues Hotel for $50M After Daughter Found Dead in Freezer

Mother Sues Hotel for $50M After Daughter Found Dead in Freezer

Reports have surfaced about how the mother of Kenneka Jenkins, who was discovered dead in a freezer, says the hotel is at fault for her little girl’s 2017 death and is demanding $50 million.

Teresa Martin has filed a suit on behalf of her teenage daughter’s estate against the Crowne Plaza Chicago-O’Hare Hotel for carelessness, asserting there were a few open doors for the hotel and its staff to help keep Kenneka last September but they didn’t.

In the documents obtained by TMZ, Teresa charges that the hotel was aware of Kenneka’s disappearance from a room where a party was being held at, and says that the Crowne Plaza staff didn’t check the surveillance footage to locate her in time or didn’t properly review it.

She proceeds to claim that Kenneka strolled by a few staff members who didn’t help her and that the cooler Kenneka strolled into was easily accessible to the public. She likewise asserts the cooler had a blurred sticker on it that doesn’t properly instruct you how to unlock the door.

Kenneka’s body was found in the cooler about 24 hours after she was reported missing. Her cause of death was hypothermia and it was ruled unintentional. But of course, a few conspiracy theories that suggested foul play made its laps through the rumor mill.

Although the police closed the case without any arrests or charges, Kenneka’s mother is still pointing fingers at the hotel.
