Nigerian Police Man Kills NYSC Member.
With the public outcry against the Nigerian police by many Nigerians, we report another tragic incident where a Youth Corper set to pass out was shot by an policeman.
The news comes barely a few days after seven police officers were shot dead by unknown gunmen at Galadimawa Junction, just off the international airport road in Abuja.
According to the reports – that have since gone viral on the internet – Linda Angela Igwetu was shot dead while she was on her way home with friends, at about 3am. It was gathered that Linda, who should be passing out today, was having fun and celebrating her passing out with her friends on Tuesday night. But on her way home a police officer shot at the car she was in and she was hit.
She was said to have been promptly rushed to Garki hospital where Linda was attended to immediately she was brought in. She was in a pool of her own blood, and had low heart rate.” the young corper eventually bled to death.
A Twitter user (@Chinny3bs), who claimed to be her sister, confirmed this in a tweet.

Segun Awosanya, an activist and convener of the #EndSARS campaign, said the deceased had gone out with friends to celebrate her end of year service when the incident happened.
“She finished at work late at about 11pm and joined a few friends to a hang out before their passing out parade scheduled for Thursday (today),” he said via Twitter.
“They left for home at about 3am and was shot at shortly after the check point immediately after Ceddi Plaza by a Police Officer identified as Benjamin Peters.
“The bullet hit Angela on her side, by the midriff and she began loosing blood in the open roof vehicle.
Awosanya had initially claimed in one of his tweets that Garki Hospital first refused to treat the injured corp member without Police report; but he later corrected himself, saying that sources present at the hospital revealed that a consultant was called in, who attended to Linda immediately.
“Medications were prescribed, but she has lost so much blood. We are, however, looking to clarify what happened between (the) time lag.”
“The case was later taken to Federal Secretariat Police Station where the elder sister of the deceased Chineye Igwetu was crying for help.”
Meanwhile, Police has reportedly confirmed the incident.
In a telephone interview with Daily Trust, the FCT Police spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah said, “We are investigating the case. It is at the Criminal Investigation Department. So, investigation is ongoing on the case.”
