Teyana Taylor and her husband, NBA player Iman Shumpert, are bringing their family to VH1 in “Teyana & Iman,” a new reality series based on their marriage.
In a promo clip, which features the couple’s two-year-old daughter Junie, Shumpert reveals why he decided to do a docu-series.
“When I look at reality shows, it don’t look like reality to me,” said the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard and burgeoning rapper. “It’s so important to be a positive representation of black love that my ass actually got on TV to do it.”
Taylor said that her goal is to inspire all types of love. “Not even just black love, all love,” she said. “It is to inspire love, period.
There’s nothing more special than showing young folk that you could be in love, and be married.”
But there’s another reason fans should tune in to the show, according to Taylor. “You guys should tune in because of Junie,” she said of their adorable daughter. “She’s just the life of the party. Never a dull moment.”
Including eight 30-minute episodes, the forthcoming series will follow Teyana and Iman through New York Fashion Week, MTV VMAs, and downtime at home with their baby girl.
“Teyana & Iman” premieres Monday, Feb. 19, on VH1.
