Busy week for Chris Brown in the news. After appearing on a new single by Spiff TV & Prince Royce, video with French Montana, and announced the dates for his upcoming “Party Tour,” it was reported by TMZ that his ex, Karrueche Tran, filed a restraining order against him.
Not wasting much time after the news broke, Breezy addressed the situation with a video statement on Instagram.
“Make sure y’all don’t be listening to all this bullsh*t, man,” he said. “Whatever people on the other side doing, let them do what they doing. I don’t know what the f*ck they talking about.”
According to the report, Brown has been ordered to stay more than 100 yards away from Karrueche, her brother, and her mother. In a sworn statement, Tran said Brown threatened to shoot and kill her. She also said that Brown punched her in the stomach and pushed her down the stairs several years ago.
Although he didn’t mention Karrueche by name in the video, he did explain why he is no longer fighting Soulja Boy in their much-hyped boxing match. “I bowed-ed out of this Soulja Boy fight,” he said. “It was a legit thing on a positive scale. All the wrong people got in the way, the middlemen people got in the way, the homies, so to speak, got in the way because they wanted to get a piece of the pie.”
“It’s immature, first and foremost,” he added. “Second of all, ain’t no ni**a gonna ever ho me out. So, however everything goes, this how we rocking. He gon’ see me, he gon’ see me. I ain’t out here moving nothing crazy. But just don’t believe all that bullsh*t, bro. I’m out.”
A new report by TMZ, Chris Brown has been ordered to stay away from his ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, after she filed legal docs saying he ‘vowed to kill her and he’s beat her up before.’
In a sworn statement to a California judge, Karrueche claims that earlier this month Chris “told a few people that he was going to kill me.” She then says Chris told the friends if he can’t have her than no one else can, threatening he was going to “take me out” and “threatened to shoot me.”
Karrueche also says several years ago Chris “punched me in my stomach twice,” and “pushed me down the stairs.” This would have been during the time Chris was on probation for the Rihanna beating.
The legal docs also claim Chris has threatened to harm her friends and even recently threw a drink at one of them. She worries he’s now putting action behind his words, and that’s why she got the restraining order.
A few weeks ago Chris posted a video, which aligns with Karrueche’s claim that Chris was telling friends, if he couldn’t have her no one could.

With his selection as one of MTV Base’s artistes to watch this year, indigenous afro-pop/fusion artiste Terry Apala has released his first single of the year, a thumping mid tempo song called ‘Social Media’. In his signature Apala Hip-Hop style, Terry sings about the unrealistic portrayal of their lives that social media encourages people to do for public affirmation.
Despite the strong moral message, Terry’s delivery on the Pitch produced track is sure to make it a fan favourite. If this is any indication of what he has in store this year, it is truly going to be the year ‘Two Thousand and Apala’.
It was rumored that Future will be releasing another album following the release of his self-titled album Future. The Atlanta rapper confirmed that he’s releasing the album he “always wanted to make” titled HNDRXX Friday, February 24th in an Instagram post
This new album was rumored to be “more Rhythmic-leaning and radio-friendly,” according to its sources. It would be his third album in a little over a year, following last week’s self-titled effort and EVOL from last February.
Though another new album would be a surprise, but Future did mention during an interview with Zane Lowe that he had enough material for another album. Future Hendrix’s next release could potentially give him back to back No. 1 albums; his self-titled project is projected to land at No. 1 and sell 145-155,000 equivalent album units, according to Hits Daily Double.
While no track titles have been revealed, both Rihanna and The Weeknd are tagged on Future’s Instagram announcement. “The album I always wanted to make, timing is everything,” wrote Future.
The decision to release two full-length albums in two weeks, each appealing to a different demographic, is certainly not unprecedented—in September 2005, Nelly released Sweat and Suit on the same day—but it’s a bold move nonetheless.
