The track was first previewed on Juice’s Instagram in late 2018. In March of 2021, Lil Bibby—manager of Juice’s label, Grade A Productions—tweeted a snippet of “Already Dead.”
In a statement on the forthcoming Fighting Demons album, Juice WRLD’s mother Carmela Wallace and Grade A Productions said, “Jarad was always searingly honest about his struggles and through his musical genius he articulated what was on his heart and mind vividly through his art. He never gave up and his friends and family never gave up on offering their support to him.”
An anniversary edition Goodbye & Good Riddance (Anniversary Edition) was released earlier this year in May.
