The pop and electronic music duo’s latest single was performed at the BRIT Awards and is in support of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Founded in 1992, the Elton John AIDS Foundation is one of the leading independent AIDS organizations in the world.
The collaboration and performance were inspired by the Russell T Davies hit TV series, It’s a Sin, a five-part series set in 1980s London during the AIDS epidemic, starring Alexander in the leading role.
Elton John and Olly Alexander’s performance has been hailed as “utterly incredible” by viewers of the awards ceremony.
“By fighting together, we’ve changed the world. Today, HIV is no longer a death sentence,” Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, said to introduce the performance.
