On January 26, 2021, 6 Dogs passed away due to suicide. 6 Dogs was working on the body of work before his passing, named after his real first name, The album’s name and release date was announced by his team on February 11th, 2021 via Instagram.

Originally titled “Wavebuilder’s club”, in “The Nuance Magazine” interview with 6 dogs he says he got the original name of this project from a label he wanted to start with the same name. he said the album is a birth and death story, that the first song on the album is called “when i was a baby” and that the last song on it is called “day that i die”. The album was originally planned to release on February 26th, 2021, and was finished on January 9th, 2021.

Ronald Chase Amick (May 5, 1999 – January 26, 2021), better known by his stage name 6 Dogs, was an American SoundCloud rapper known predominantly for songs “Faygo Dreams” and “Flossing”, which have racked up around 16 and 8 million streams. His very first song, “Demons in the A” was released in late 2016 but was later deleted: it since has been added to his self-titled album.

Two years later, 6 Dogs released a project titled Rough Mixes From David’s Basement. In October of 2019, he released Hi-Hats & Heartaches.
