He wrote the whole thing in Paris, and has described it as a “step forward in maturity” and says it captured a very particular moment in time. The video for ‘As Long As You Care’ features Ruel meandering around a 70’s inspired house, while also playing various 70’s television stereotypes on screens around the home, complimenting the smooth and groovy burn of the song itself.

“This project isn’t who I am right now, as I wrote these songs last year, but it’s the most mature you’ve ever heard me and it was me, in that moment in time,” says Ruel. “The songs I’m writing now will be more mature again, and I love that my fans can come on this journey with me as I grow.”

It’s a lot more layered, I want each project to have more meaning and purpose”, says Ruel of the album, which he’s currently working on with frequent collaborators M-Phazes and THIEF. “I want to reflect on something important in my life, and give across a message that if people are feeling the same way that I am, it’s okay.”
