Chika Perform ‘High Rises’ And ‘Crown’ For The Tonight Show

Chika Performs ‘High Rises’ And ‘Crown’ For The Tonight Show. Chika is fresh off being named to the 2020 XXL Freshman class and back in August, she introduced herself to the world with a NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.

Los Angeles venue The Beehive provided the space for her performance. She was joined by a band and backing vocalists consisting of India Carney, Kenyon Dixon, Danielle Withers, Randell Amie, drummer Krystal Smith, BlackSamurai and bass guitarist Chris Payton.

Recently, Chika had a small role in the 2020 Netflix original film starring Jamie Foxx, Project Power. She also wrote original verses included in the film performed by Dominique Fishback. Months after the release of Industry Games, she released “U Should” and “My Power” for the film’s soundtrack.

Chika appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last year after being invited by guest host Lena Waithe. She performed “Richey v. Alabama,” a track exploring a blocked abortion law in her home state. “Crown” in particular was also recently included on Barack Obama’s summer playlist.
