Last night, Melania Trump took to the stage alongside her husband at the Republican National Convention, where she chose to wear a brightly coloured £3,000 gown.

Twitter quickly likened the dress to a green screen and used the opportunity to highlight the many issues which they feel have been ignored by the present government.

The bright lime colour is similar to that of a green screen, a visual-effects and post-production tool where videos or images can be superimposed onto the background.

This, of course, gave critics ample opportunity to draw attention to many of the important issues which are thought to have been largely ignored at the RNC, particularly the staggering (and still growing) number of deaths relating to coronavirus.

Meanwhile, comedian and presenter Trevor Noah highlighted Donald Trump’s friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, while others covered her dress with imagery from immigration detention centres.
