Chelsea Kai Harvetz Transfer deal almost complete: Report

Chelsea Kai Harvetz transfer deal is almost complete with news reports suggesting all things are close to the Bayer Leverkusen starlet on his way to Stamford bridge.

According to reports in Spain, Bayer Leverkusen received two offers for Havertz.
One is an €80million (£72.3million) offer from Real Madrid and the other is from Chelsea which is said to be in the region of €88million (£79.6million).

It is now claimed that Chelsea will aim to offload Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, Michy Batshuayi, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Kenedy and Danny Drinkwater in an attempt to fund a deal.

The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea have stepped up their interest in securing Havertz’s signature and are ready to launch a £75million bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed that Chelsea, despite knowing that they face stern competition to land his signature, are desperate to add him to Frank Lampard’s squad and have identified him as a player that they want.

Havertz is currently valued at the £75million mark and the Blues are willing to pay it, as they look to try and bridge the gap on their Premier League rivals.

If the Blues were to win the race for the midfielder, who would have had ambitions to represent Germany at this summer’s European Championships had they not been suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic, he would add an extra wealth of quality to Lampard’s options.

Having already secured the signatures of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner in big-money deals, Havertz looks set to join them at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea Kai Harvetz transfer deal has been locked in lengthy negotiations with Leverkusen about getting a deal over the line and it now seems as though a deal is going to get done.

Chelsea would be able to secure Havertz’s signature if they paid north of £90million.
That is according to Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz.

Bosz told Algemeen Dagblad back in March: “He can’t be held on to next summer. That will be a transfer of €100million (£90million). What am I saying? More than €100million (£90million)!”

Following their league win over Mainz last season, Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz issued an update on Havertz’s future.

He said: “I don’t feel that he is thinking too much about transferring.

“I certainly don’t have the impression that this will be his last game for the club. He is still under contract with us and I have to assume that he will be with us next season too.
“That will include the German Cup final next month and the next Europa League game against Rangers in August.

“Of course, that’s all dependent on nothing happening before then.”

Chelsea are the only club that are willing to meet the £90million release clause in Havertz’s Leverkusen contract, according to a report by the Mail.

It is believed that Chelsea are locked in a battle with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to secure the signature for the highly-rated 21-year-old.

Madrid are keen on taking Havertz to the Spanish capital but are not prepared to pay the fee that would be enough to complete a deal, whereas Chelsea are, which puts them at the very front of the queue to complete a deal.
