CONMEBOL Announced Changes In Libertadores And Sudamericana

CONMEBOL announced on Thursday that they will allow teams to register a maximum of 40 players for the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana in 2020. Until now, the limit was 30.

The coronavirus pandemic forced CONMEBOL to stop its international competitions, although they will return next month. However, they will do so with some change.

And the South American footballing body announced on Thursday that they will allow clubs participating in the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana to register more players.

Until now, the player limit on the list of each side was 30, but CONMEBOL has decided to increase the figure to 40.

The change is being carried out to alleviate any unforeseen events arising from the infamous COVID-19 so that clubs can have more options to line up with different players in case of a massive contagion.
