Manchester United are looking to offload first team players to pursue Van De Beek. Solskjaer wants to take the English side back to the glory days and is willing to make the right purchases during the transfer market.

According to sports news by the Mirror via the Metro, Andreas Pereira could be a player who Solskjaer will snip away from the club in the summer transfer window. The report claims that United hope Andreas Pereira’s sale will be enough to raise funds for a key Red Devils target in Donny van de Beek.

The Ajax star is prolific in front of goal and he was crucial in the Dutch side’s run to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.

In order for Solskjaer to have a successful rebuild, the Norwegian needs to improve and have capable legs to relay on and the Ajax midfielder is younger than Pereira and already looks like twice the player. Capable of playing in the holding or offensive roles, Donny van de Beek is the perfect all-round player.

Andreas Pereira has had an amicable Man United career. The tradition of seeing youth players from the academy break into the first team is an ancient one at Old Trafford. Pereira certainly caught the eye, but he never really took the fans’ breath away. His performances have been average and with the Belgian international now 24 years of age, he is clearly no longer a prodigy.
