Odion Ighalo heads back to China After Loan deal failure

Man Utd’s Odion Ighalo leaves for China after the Manchester club failed to agree an extension to the Nigerian’s loan spell. That’s according to a Sports report in The Sun, which claims the 30-year-old will head back to Shanghai Shenhua following the conclusion of his loan.

The Red Devils were locked in negotiations to extend his loan deal, which expired on Sunday night. The 30-year-old was keen to stay in Manchester, but Shenhua wanted him to sign a new contract first before they would let him extend his loan.

The Sun claims he has been offered a fresh contract worth £400,000-per-week.
United originally wanted to make his loan spell permanent, but were told to pay £20million in order to do so.

The Nigerian signed a short-term loan deal back in the January transfer window after United failed to bring in a new striker.
