Ronaldo Unhappy With Juventus & Barcelona Negotiate Player Deal

Ronaldo unhappy with Juventus and has lost all his patience with the Board as they negotiate deal with Barcelona for Miralem Pjanic and now Matthijs De Ligt.

The reports emerging from Italy claim that Juventus have entered into negotiations with Barcelona not only regarding Miralem Pjanic but also Mathijs De Ligt. In the summer of 2019, Barca was tipped as favourites to sign both Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs De Ligt, however, the former Ajax midfielder signed for the Catalan team and the former Ajax captain snubbed the Camp Nou for Juventus.

Sports reports from the Express claim that the Dutch defender has considered a move to Barcelona once again after being heavily linked last season. The report goes on to state that Frenkie de Jong would play an important role for the Catalan team to sign their long lost target as the current La Liga leaders are in a desperate need to find a successor for Gerard Pique. This in turn would make Ronaldo unhappy at Juventus.

Both the Dutch youngsters initially struggled with settling in their new environments as they all their youth academy days were spent in the Netherlands with Ajax Amsterdam. Matthijs De Ligt, however, received harsh criticism due to his initial struggle and the injury of Giorgio Chiellini acted as a lifeline for the former Ajax captain.

Due to the ruptured ACL that Giorgio Chiellini suffered from, Matthijs De Ligt was handed over the first team position with former AC Milan defender, Leonardo Bonnucci. Despite being handed an opportunity to cement his place in the starting eleven, the Dutch international continued to struggle and former Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, opted to play Merih Demiral instead.

With Merih Demiral’s consistent performances it seemed like De Ligt’s time in Turin was numbered, however, unfortunately, the Turkish defender joined club captain Chiellini on the sidelines after rupturing his ACL.

Matthijs De Ligt was once again given the opportunity to prove his worth and this time the Dutch defender made most of the opportunity that was handed to him. As the former Ajax captain started finding his feet at Turin after performing consistently for a while, his hot run of form came to a tragic end as the league was suspended due to the widespread of COVID-19 across Italy.
