Steve Aoki and Backstreet Boys come through with a new song titled Let It Be Me. Available for download and streaming, the collaboration was announced Monday night (Aug. 26) on the artists’ social media pages, where they shared a poster-worthy photo of all six of them — Aoki alongside Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough, AJ McClean, Nick Carter and Brian Littrell — and some bandmate banter.
“Introducing the 6th Backstreet Boy,” the group wrote on Instagram. Steve Aoki commented on the post that he’s “honored. “Can’t wait to drop this,” he added.
On his own Instagram page, Aoki, who had hinted at a potential collab last year, teased the news as well: “Can I be the 6th member?”
WE ARE WORKING ON MUSIC TOGETHER. IF IT’S GOING TO BE ON THEIR ALBUM OR MY ALBUM, I’M NOT EVEN SURE. WE LIVE IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD SO HE CAME INTO MY STUDIO. THEY JUST CARE ABOUT MAKING GOOD MUSIC
Wait, don’t speak
Don’t wanna hear all your warnings
Don’t care what happened before me
Wait, don’t leave
Nothing that’s easy is worth it
Nothing that’s worth it is perfect, yeah
