Alessia Cara has released a new song titled Rooting For You. Available for download and streaming, the new song was annouced on Wednesday. The track is a follow up to her latest single “Ready,” off the singer’s upcoming EP This Summer.
The Grammy-winner wrote. “I’ll be releasing a new track every couple of weeks until it’s release.” In the track, Cara explores the feeling that comes after you realize you’re involved with someone who’s not ready for commitment. It’s a different kind of breakup, one that allows you to walk away feeling empowered.
Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara performed a high-energy, fast-paced concert in Detroit on Monday, August 5, 2019. Both performers had all the help they needed from the 20,000 fans in the audience. Cara, who won the Grammy for best new artist in 2018, opened the show at 7:30 p.m. with a 45 minute set.
She received a huge ovation the second she took the stage, despite a lot of fans who were still in the long merchandise lines waiting to buy Shawn Mendes souvenirs.
The crowd did fill the arena quickly, though, and watched a rising star belt out 10 songs with her distinctive singing voice, including “How Far I’ll Go” from the Disney movie “Moana,” “Here,” “Scars to Your Beautiful,” and “Stay.”
“I feel super close to home right now. We’re from Toronto, so this is cool. We’re so happy to be here.”
According to NBC, the Grammy winner will appear on the August 14 episode. Current listings say she will appear for an interview — and then take the stage for a performance with Juanes.
