Jojo Drops New Songs, Waiting For You + Were You High

Jojo returns with not one but two new songs. Titled Waiting For You and Were You High, the singer surprised music fans with the tracks as we enter the weekend groove. Apparently leaks, we do hope the songs drop soon.

The last time we heard from JoJo was on PJ Morton’s song Say So. The video for the track was also released recently. Jojo also linked up with Jacob Collier on his song It Don’t Matter. She blessed the track with dove-like falsettos on a string of vocal runs. She’s known for her strong voice and ability to impose a grip of soul when she sings.

Jojo was embroiled in a nasty years-long battle with her label, Blackground Records, that culminated with her suing them in 2013 to get out of her contract after endless conflicts, including her alleging the label forced her to lose weight by withholding the release of her music. After The High Road, Jojo wouldn’t release another studio album for 10 years until Mad Love in 2016, after successfully severing ties with her old label.

Quotable Lyrics:
Don’t know why what I did before you
Every night, every night
Waiting For You
Time passes for both of us
