Video: Meek Mill – “Oodles O’ Noodles Babies”

Meek Mill finally releases the video for his Championships album cut, “Oodles O’ Noodles Babies.” Meek Mill has had a very interesting last couple of months and in the last few weeks was back in the controversy section of tabloids.

Meek is putting all the drama aside as he gives music fans a new music video from his latest album. On Oodles O’ Noodles Babies, Mill recalls his hardships over a smooth sample from “Love Changes” by Mother’s Finest, touching on everything from the memory of his father to one judge’s keenness on keeping him behind bars.

He’s uncharacteristically calm, with his usual fiery resolve replaced with tranquility. Though his emotions threaten to break after the first verse, he eases into an interlude about his relationship with law enforcement (“We ain’t never believed in the police, they was shootin’ us”).

The rapper has been granted a new hearing at an appellate court in Philadelphia on July 16, according to his lawyer. Mill is advocating to have a 2008 conviction on drug and gun charges overturned. Mill received a two-to-four year prison sentence in 2017 for violating probation on the 2008 conviction.

Among his lawyers’ arguments for vacating is that Reginald Graham, the officer who arrested Meek in 2007, could not be considered a credible witness and allegedly gave false testimony during Meek’s initial trial. In addition, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has pointed to a “public perception of unfairness and bias” surrounding Judge Brinkley, who has refused to recuse herself from the case despite allegations of overstepping her duties as a judge.
