Tove Lo is back with a new single title “Glad He’s Gone.” Available for download and streaming, It’s a cut from her upcoming album ‘Sunshine Kitty’, due later this year, and arrives ahead of her set at London’s Mighty Hoopla festival next weekend.
She says of the track: “We’ve all been on both sides of the break-up pep talk with our friends and we all know how good it feels to get your partner in crime back when they finally leave that idiot behind.”
Tove Lo shared the teaser on Tuesday, 28 May 2019, across all her social media pages, showing a video of a speaker box, with illuminating lights streaming from it. In the corner of the frame, an animated cat, wearing a pink bow appears and is seen bobbing along to the song’s tune.
The clip concludes with a heart frame around the cat and quickly fades into the singer’s logo and single’s release date. The video was accompanied by a peculiar caption stating, “Guys. Meet Sunshine Kitty. She’s a little freaky.” According to fan speculation, Sunshine Kitty alludes to the singer’s upcoming album title.
“Never no tears for that sucker, only one date — that’s a bummer,” Tove sings over frantic production courtesy of The Struts and Shellback. “Dancing all night, get guys’ numbers. Better off, I’m glad that he’s gone.”
