Sylvester Stallone is one of the iconic actors of the century and his blockbuster flick Rambo just got a new movie on the way.
Lionsgate shared a first teaser at Sylvester Stallone’s final Rambo movie, Rambo: Last Blood.
The video teaser begins with a retired John Rambo on a rocking chair before devolving into a high-octane Home Alone, when agents apparently come to kill the old mercenary. Given Rambo’s history, we probably don’t need to tell you that rolling up on the ranch doesn’t go well for anyone not named Rambo.
The film eventually forces Rambo off of his ranch when he decides to go after a cartel that kidnapped some local girls, including the daughter of his caretaker. Stallone painted a grim picture of the fifth Rambo feature at Cannes.
“Bad things happen,” he shared. “There’s going to be some serious vengeance in this movie. A lot of people getting hurt.”
He noted that this movie, more than any other beyond the original film, would be dealing with the fallout of what Rambo does for a living.
“In every film, Rambo never goes home, he goes out the to the jungle or Afghanistan. In the new one, he does come home, but in a way he never arrives. He’s there, but he’s not,” Stallone said. “That’s what the whole story is built around. As soon as he walks outside his door, he has no more control. The world controls you.”
The fatalist outlook is fitting, given that Stallone appears to be putting his two most iconic characters to bed. On top of making the last Rambo, the actor revealed that he’s done playing Rocky Balboa last year.
