Kodak Black Arrested Before Rolling Loud For Allegedly Falsifying Gun Applications

Authorities arrested Kodak Black for allegedly falsifying gun applications on two different occasions in order to purchase guns. The Blast reports the rapper was charged with making a false statement in the acquisition and attempted acquisition of a firearm.

Kodak Black was scheduled to perform at Rolling Loud at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens this weekend but news broke out hours before he was supposed to hit the stage. He was arrested on state and federal gun charges. Details pertaining to his arrest have been scarce since Saturday but new details have emerged revealing why he was taken into custody.

A two-count indictment filed against Kodak in Florida said that federal prosecutors are accusing Kodak of intentionally making a false statement earlier this year on two occasions to buy firearms — one time in January, the second in March. Kodak allegedly stated that he wasn’t facing any other criminal charges and didn’t inform the seller that he had a case pending against him. Additionally, he’s not supposed to have a firearm at all since he’s a felon.

The prosecutors claim he did end up obtaining a firearm at least one of those times. The charging documents reveal that the arrest came after an extensive investigation. It was previously suggested to him on Instagram that the FBI was looking for him.

Kodak Black could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
