Dennis Lloyd pops up on pur radar with his new EP, Exident. Listing 5 tracks, Lloyd’s latest project is available for download amd streaming. Exident is tending towards heartbreak and the emotions with the end of a relationship.
It begins with the moody, Spanish prelude Introducción, where Lloyd recounts the good and bad memories with a lover and apologizes for what he’s about to say. Introducción’s sensual melody flows effortlessly into the next song, Aura.
Aura is a bitter, sorrow-filled song where the artist recounts the multiple ways in which his partner hurt him, leaving him empty and alone. The song is a powerful display of emotion supported by a melancholic piano tune, strong rhythmic percussion and a crashing instrumental bridge.
This is followed by hit song Never Go Back, where the artist alternates between English and Spanish lyrics with ease. He is supported by a summery, tropical beat, not taking away from the scorned, doubting lyrics.
