Zara Larsson releases a new song titled Don’t Worry Bout Me.” Available for download and streaming on your favorite platforms was produced by The Struts. Don’t Worry Bout Me is a sassy and empowering pop anthem. The artist co-wrote the lyrics with musician and songwriter Tove Lo.
Larsson continues to add “the finishing touches on her forthcoming second full-length,” the followup to 2017’s gold-certified So Good, her label Epic explains in a statement.
“Worry” follows “Ruin My Life,” which cracked the Billboard Hot 100 in January and has raced past 250 million streams, according to Epic, and it sets up her next official single, details for which haven’t been announced.
On it, she sings, “Don’t worry ’bout me/ You should worry ’bout you/ Yeah, that’s your problem, so fix it/ ‘Cause I ain’t none of your business/ Now I’ve been sleeping okay.”
The song is about moving on from a romantic relationship. Larsson recounts her partner’s faults, in particular their selfishness. She describes how she is now better off and that he should stop worrying about her but rather worry about himself. In accompaniment with these self-assured lyrics is a dancehall and house inspired beat, adding a playful and summery element to the song.
