James Bay shares new song, Peer Pressure featuring Julia Michaels. Bay’s latest single is available for download and streaming on your favorite platforms. Bay took to Instagram on Tuesday (Feb. 19) to share a teaser of the upcoming collab, titled “Peer Pressure.”
The acoustic tunes seems to tell the tale of late-night mistakes, with lyrics like “Seven texts, 2 a.m./ Halfway dressed/ They’re all saying call me up/ You can’t sleep/ You’re testing me/ Bad but sweet/ And I’m just trying to keep it together.”
Peer Pressure sounds like a return to the soulful rock of his mega-selling debut LP. “2am, seven texts, halfway dressed, they’re all saying call me up,” he croons over strummed guitar. “You can’t sleep, you’re testing me, bad but sweet.” It will be interesting to see if “Peer Pressure” is part of a deluxe edition of James’ (very underrated) 2018 LP, Electric Light, or a stand-alone single. Either way, it sounds like a winner.
The crooner released his sophomore record, Electric Light, in early 2018, and Michaels dropped her own EP Inner Monologue at the end of January.
