Lil Keed – In The DM
Lil Keed shares new single, In The DM. Lil Keed continues to flood the streets with new music and his latest being In The DM. Lil Keed—who Young Thug has called his “1st son”—is establishing himself as a promising up-and-comer with a melodic style that is strongly influenced by the high-pitched quirks of a Slime Season era Thug.
Keed, like most of Atlanta’s melodic breakouts, is in touch with his feelings: “I just met her one day/And I gave her a nickname/And I changed the whole scenery.” And will stunt to conceal his longing for love (“She say she want some young slime love/Pull up on her gang with the I8 doors up”). It all contributes to a track that feels like Lil Keed’s shining moment in Atlanta.
The standout track from Lil Keed’s latest mixtape, Keed Talk to ’Em, is “Nameless” which, similar to Lil Baby’s “Close Friends,” is a lovestruck ballad made to be screenshotted and posted on every high schooler’s IG story. The beat provided by producer Goose is dreamy, with keys pretty enough for a children’s bedtime song.
