Fresh outta the still buzzing, Palwine Music 2 album project by the indispensable SHOW DEM CAMP group comes this classical tagged RAGABOMI featuring U.K based Nigerian singer MOELOGO.
About one month ago, Show Dem Camp released Palm Wine Music: Vol 2, the amazing follow-up to their previous EP of the same title. Stacked with an amazing line up of guest acts, including Burna Boy, Nonso Amadi, Falana and more, it’s fair to say the 10-track project is an embarrassment of sonic riches.
Given that it’s been a month since this project’s release, we’re fully expecting that fans have fully immersed themselves in the project. Beyond the actual music, Palm Wine Music is a brave and defining facet of the Nigerian music industry, which we believe paved the way for a lot of artists who are coming out and unabashedly owning their sounds.
Speaking to Konbini about this project, Show Dem Camp said:
“We wanted to give the core fans that had been following us from before Vol 1, and our new fans, who just joined us, something that achieves a balance between our original sound and the palm wine sound.
It’s literally just trying to speak to the same people who have come in from Vol 1, but adding in some commentary on contemporary social issues and passing on important messages.”
So, to explain how his amazing project came together, we at Konbini had a sit-down with Ghost & Tec, where they shared with us a track-by-track breakdown of Palm Wine Music Vol 2. In this chat, they reveal the inspiration behind each song and how they went about choosing their amazing roster of features.
