Jay Rock links uo with Tee Grizzley for a new cut titled “Shot Real”. Over a year ago, Jay Rock fans were teased with a collaboration between the TDE artist and Tee Grizzley. In a video posted to social media, Jay Rock bounced to the track in the studio while it was being mixed.
The anticipated team-up didn’t materialize on Redemption, causing fans to hope the single would drop on its own one day.
Shit Real” touched down late Tuesday night, and it won’t be leaving my playlist for months. Produced by Swish, the “Shit Real” instrumental employs a twisted synth that sounds like a mix between an alien abduction movie theme and Dr. Dre’s G-funk.
The tempo is just fast enough that “Shit Real” could bump in a club, yet slow enough for both artists to rap about exactly what the title suggests: real shit. Grizzley and Jay Rock blend well together, with the Detroit rapper sounding like he was born on the West Coast.
