HotNewHipHop’s very own Mitch Findlay’s shortlist for “song of the year” included “Fukk Sleep” by A$AP Rocky and FKA Twig. Much to his delight, it now has music video based around the figurative images it inspired.
On Testing, A$AP Rocky ventured to the UK to sample their soundboards — for the “Fukk Sleep” video he ventures much farther for inspiration, into the 5th element you might say – a World inhabited by creatures of the night, some human, some with a far different genetic code.
A$AP Rocky seems to have invested both time and money into the concept, calling upon Object Animal & O Creative Studio to oversee the project, as well as director Diana Kunst, noted for her work on broader film projects. Based out of London, Kunst has cultivated a career in video work and photography which includes recognition from the Cannes International Film Festival when she was in her early twenties.
The “Fukk Sleep” video is a nice punctuation to a successful 2018 for Rocky.
