Joell Ortiz – Timberlan’d Up Ft. Royce Da 5’9″ (Song)

I was naturally drawn to this song because of stereotyping.

A Timberland boot will never be mistaken for a dancing shoe, I know that much is true. It’s not the type of footwear you care to keep in proper order. They accumulate sore spots until the soles come off, then you part ways, simple as that. By which point you’re already head over heels excited to cop the new pair.

It’s this sounds like your objective reality, you might be inheriting the mantle from Joell Ortiz & Apollo Brown who included an ode to NY’s favorite boot on their new project Mona Lisa.

Fellow Slaughterhouse alumnus Royce da 5’9 joins them on “Timberlan’d Up.” Apollo replayed the sequence of events to Complex last month.

“‘Timberlan’d Up’ started with the hook; it guided me to make the beat. It needed to be simple, really simple, and it was a must that it complimented the threat of consequences being stated,” Apollo told Complex. “Of course, Joell did his thing and the fact that we enlisted Royce to bless the track was both inevitable, and incredible.”
