At two minutes, “Opera” is a compact listening experience that leaves room for little else besides a mellow beat and Savage’s mix of threats and casual boasts. Riding the track in cruise mode, the Caroline Records artist paints a picture of a luxurious life as he dismisses his doubters.
While the mellowness of “Opera” makes it sound as if D Savage has nothing to prove, the rapper says it’s a track he crafted with his haters in mind.
“Coming up and even now there has always been naysayers and non-believers,” the “I Know” artist tells XXL. “I just learned to believe in myself and this track is the embodiment of that.”
Now that he’s dropped off “Opera,” a track that is now streaming on all DSPs, Savage is looking ahead to unload a new project. His newest mixtape, D Phoenix, is all set to drop on Oct. 12, and includes features from the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, Yung Bans and Juice WRLD.
