Big Ghost’s production immediately evokes memories of vintage Ghost, as the hip-hop legend takes to the boom-bap flavored percussion with a solid flow; one thing Tony Starks fans understand is his near-unparalleled vernacular, as Ghost has perfected the art of combining abstract imagery with street lingo. Such dazzling displays of language are not absent on this go-around.
Supporting player KXNG Crooked closes the proceedings with absolute savagery, showing off a dexterous penchant for multisyllabic rhyme schemes. “You could be double-crossed by your apostle, that’s the Pentecostal gospel,” raps Crooked, taking aim at culture vultures and anyone who dare question his ability. With solid additions from Benny and Spesh, “Buckingham Palace” is a lyrical assault destined to set The Lost Tapes off on a high note.
