The lyrics of song, subtitled—do hint that the video may be a little nod to Gomez’s on-off romance with Justin Bieber. Her love interest in the video, a blond guy, has very Bieber-esque hair. Casting love interests that look like your real-life exes is something that Calvin Harris and The Weeknd have notably done, with Taylor Swift and Bella Hadid respectively.
